The results and standings went normal through the preliminary round with Canada and Sweden winning all there games, and then came the quarterfinals. With Sweden playing Slovenia it was an easy win for Sweden 5-0. Next came Finland and Russia and this is where the first big upset happened with Finland beating the Russians 3-1. Next was the U.S taking on the Czech Republic with the U.S taking it 5-2. Finally was the Canadians vs. Latvia, Canada won 2-1 but Canada gave them everything they had registering 57 shots and only scoring 2 goals on the amazing Latvian goalie Kristers Gudlevskis.
Next was the semis with Sweden taking on Finland with Sweden beating the Fins 2-1 with another amazing performance from the king Henrik Lunqvist. The second semi-final was between Canada and the United States with Canada winning the game 1-0 with the lone goal coming from Jamie Benn and the shut out from Carey Price.
The Bronze Medal game between the United States and Finland was a huge blowout with the Fins winning 5-0 over 2010's silver medalists the united States.
Lastly was the Gold Medal game between Sweden and Canada. With 8 minutes left in the first Canada opens the scoring with Johnathan Toews scoring on a redirect. Then came Crosby scoring in the second on a breakaway to put Canada up 2-0. Then came Chris Kunitz who stole the puck and scored with 10 minutes left in the third to put Canada up 3-0. Then it was all Carey Price stopping all 24 shots thrown at him by Sweden giving Canada its second straight gold medal.
